On Wednesday an announcement was made by ICICI Lombard about their partnership with Practo, a healthcare platform to offer insurance products to out-patients. As a result of this collaboration, a healthcare app called IL Take Care will be launched. The app will be of great help to the patients as it will help them order medicines, book appointments with doctors, manage personal health data and view reports.
With the launch of the app, ICICI Lombard will be able to offer various health insurance products to its users and Practo will be able to use its strong network of doctors and the infrastructure they have created which lets them exchange information like bills and prescriptions.
This will be a very new concept in the country and will cover the expenses of all the out-patient customers. Out-patient expenses are covered in a very limited manner in India as of now, though is a very powerful concept abroad.
Customers of ICICI Lombard will benefit a lot from this partnership. They will be able to enjoy real-time and hassle-free authentication of all expenditure incurred on tests and doctor bills and they will also have access to a big network of hospitals offering cashless treatments. In this way, they will not need to pay for OPD expenses on their own.
